It is obvious that the physical therapist, the internist and the surgeon will strive to extend their sphere of activity in such a borderline field. This may not always be to the best interest of the patient. An approach to the solution of this difficulty seemed to be the establishment of a special clinic in which men from different departments group themselves around a problem which is neither medical nor surgical.
